Tarapore & Company is a Contracting Firm founded by Late Mr J.H.Tarapore in the year 1926 in Chennai, specializing in the execution of broad spectrum of civil engineering projects and structures.
From the humble beginnings in the 1920s, the company has grown steadily, sustained in the past ten decades absorbing the fluctuating market of the Indian construction industry and created legendary landmarks across the country.
In its storied history, it has gained a rich experience by starting in the construction of Dams, Docks, Roads, Hotels, Hospitals and has now moved on to Residential, Commercial, Retail and Industrial Projects in core sectors like Steel, Automotive and Power. In addition, the company continues to exclusively handle the Slag Operations of Tata Steel in Jamshedpur for the last five decades. Also, the company has been into the Hospitality Industry by offering 3 Star Services in Hotel Aadithya, a renowned land mark in Vadapalani, Chennai.
Currently, Mr Dinshaw K Parakh, grandson of the founder Late Mr J H Tarapore, is the Managing Partner of the company, operating the business of the company with the association of Mr Behram D Bodhanwala, Resident Director, who is based at Jamshedpur. Mr Dinshaw K Parakh is a MBA graduate from USA, managing the company’s business for the past 20 years, mentored by his Father Late Mr Keku D Parakh and former Partner of the company Late Mr N Radhakrishnan who was renowned for his management in the construction of high quality Projects.
The Company’s clientele include Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tata Motors, Tata Cummins, Nuvoco Vistas & Prestige Group Bangalore.
In the past 10 years, the Company has executed major Industrial projects for Tata Steel and Tata Group in Jamshedpur & Odisha, major residential projects for Prestige Group, Bangalore and major slag handling and transport services for Tata Steel and Nuvoco.
